Building Regulation, Market Alternatives, and Allodial Policy by John M. Cobin Ph.D

Allodial

Allodial land tenure is the ownership of land in fee-simple, for life. This is possession of property free of obligation to any lord or governing authority. Allodial land ownership is commonly contrasted to feudal land ownership. Allodial property rights were claimed by the people of colonial America after the Declaration of Independence and recognized by the States after the Revolutionary War. See also allodium.
